Caserta Royal Palace Tour

Our English speaking driver will pick you up at the Sorrento Hotel in the morning at 8am and drive you directly to the city of Caserta. Here you will be able to visit the largest Royal Palace in the world with its 5 floors and more than 1200 rooms. This huge building was constructed for the Bourbon Kings specifically from Charles VII in 1752 that worked closely with his architect Luigi Vanvitelli. The political and social model for Vanvitelli's palace was the Royal Palace of Versailles in France. In 1997 it served as a filing location for Star Wars but also in the movie Mission Impossible III. After visiting the most important side of the Royal Palace you will have the opportunity to take a stroll in the amazing Park that starts from the back façade of the palace flanking a long alley with artificial fountains and cascades. It is suggested to visit a botanical garden, called "The English Garden", in the upper part designed in the 1780s by Carlo Vanvitelli and the German-born botanist, nurseryman, plantsman-designer, John Graefer. The price doesn't include lunch during the wine tasting, gratuities, entrance fees and additional cost to hire a licensed guide in the Royal Palace of Caserta. The entrance fee in the Royal palace of Caserta is 12 Euros (free of charge for under 18 showing a valid ID and the first sunday of each month when only the Gardens entrance will cost 5 Euros per person). Note that the Royal Palace is weekly closed every tuesday, January 1st, Easter monday, May 1st and December 25th.
